TUGU PAHLAWAN
For the next travel note, I went to the most historic place in Surabaya, Tugu Pahlawan. Tugu Pahlawan is near from the governor's office of East Java and becoming the witness of the greatest battle of the history, The Battle of Surabaya. This monument was built in November 10, 1951 until November 10, 1952 and the monument had the flame-shaped gate that it represents the heroic spirit of our heroes that defending the city from the invasion of Allied Forces after the proclaim of independence and you can see the monument of Ir. Soekarno and Muhammad Hatta that it was build in the former of Colonial Court building.
Walking in the area of Tugu Pahlawan is look so beautiful because there is like a part around the area and there is the ceremonial ground that it used for some national ceremony in the Government of East Java. In every corner, you can see the statues of heroes of Battle of Surabaya like Bung Tomo, Mayjend Soengkono, HR. Muhammad, Doel Arnowo, RMTA Soerjo (The first governor of East Java), and many more, you can see Opel Kapitan which is the private car of Bung Tomo, artillery arms from Allied Forces that became owned by the Patriots. In front of the monument, we can find the graves named Makam Pahlawan Tak Dikenal .
The collections of this museum are from the donation of the veterans in Surabaya like armed weapon, helemts, and traditional weapons. You can see some of the rooms inside in second floor like the dioramas of some important memories, paintings, and many more. From this museum and historical sites, you can learn about the history of our nations.

You can see the underground museum that it introduces us about the Battle of Surabaya. Inside the museum, you can see the relief of the greatest battle in Indonesia after the proclaim. Inside the museum in ground floor, you can see the diorama of the speech of Bung Tomo that was light up the spirit of the people to fought against the Allied Forces and you can listen the record of his speech but it's rather bad because it was old record and you can see some artifacts from the past like the painting of Cak Durasim, the weapons, medical equipment and the heritage of the local heroes like Mayjend Soengkono and HR. Muhammad.
